SCOUT | Multi-Agent Local-Market Research for an Investment Firm
A configurable multi-agent platform that discovers companies by geography and returns a structured investment verdict
BACKGROUND
The firm evaluates local-market businesses, building assessments almost entirely by hand. An analyst would pick a company, pull competitive listings, piece together demand signals, and benchmark pricing before the team could form a view. The work was sound, but it was serial. The team could only hold as many opportunities in view as its analysts had hours to research, and each finished file began going stale the day it was completed. In practice, research throughput was the binding constraint on sourcing.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The bottleneck was structural. Diligence at this altitude repeats the same motions for every company: identify the competitive set, read demand, test pricing, and weigh the evidence into a verdict. Those motions are exactly what a system of specialized agents can run in parallel across an entire geography at once, applying one consistent standard to every file. If discovery could start from the full local market, and if the research could refresh itself on a schedule, the firm's coverage would finally track its thesis, with the calendar no longer the binding constraint. This would allow the firm to screen many more opportunities and speed up the pace of decision-making, increasing revenue as a result.
OUR APPROACH
Ajaia built Scout as a configurable multi-agent research platform, delivered in five stages.
THE SOLUTION
Scout: a configurable multi-agent platform that finds companies in any target area and scores them for investment.
RESULTS
Analysts screen more than 10x as many additional opportunities with the same headcount, and the roughly 20 hours that each hand-built diligence report consumed now go to the decision itself. Because every company is evaluated against the same criteria, verdicts are comparable across the pipeline, and because research refreshes on a schedule, the file in front of the investment team describes the market as it stands. Scout allows analysts to spend their time where it counts: on the final decision-making process, rather than the research that once hampered it.
